Dr. Rebecca Crowley is a native of Youngstown, Ohio. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin College and a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, both in Flute Performance. Following her graduate work at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Crowley joined the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps as a Fife Instrumentalist and served for over four years at the rank of Staff Sergeant in this elite military organization. She went on to earn a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute Performance from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She has been teaching the online Music Appreciation course at Tiffin University since 2011. Also, Dr. Crowley currently works remotely as a Performing Arts Copyright Examiner at the Library of Congress’s Copyright Office. After living in the DC area for many years, she now resides in Youngstown with her husband and two young sons.
